Pearl Wienke

July 10, 1921 — February 1, 2012

Pearl Marie Davis Wienke, 90, of Mason City, formerly of Rockford, Illinois, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with her Saviour on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Heritage Care Center, Mason City. Pearl moved to Heritage with her husband in October of 2011. She suffered a short bout with cancer. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 6, 2012 at the First Covenant Church, Hwy 122 at South Ohio with Pastor Marty Garrett officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before services. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa or Heritage Care Center. Pearl was born July 10, 1921 in Randalia, Iowa the daughter of George and Martha Fern (Knight) Davis. Following graduation from Randalia High School, she left the farm to begin working. Pearl married Gordon Henry Wienke August 28, 1953 in Elgin, Illinois. The Wienke’s were long-time residents of Rockford, Illinois. They were members of the Broadway Covenant Church in Rockford before their move to Iowa. Left to cherish her loving memory and great love of family are her husband, Gordon of Mason City; children, Richard (Carol) Wienke of Algonquin, Illinois, Shirley Crane of Mason City, Nancy (Gary) Golian; of Rockford, Illinois, Margie (Tom) Lineback of Roscoe, Illinois, Tammy (Dave) Menke of Rockford, Illinois, and Tom Wienke of Pekin, Illinois; grandchildren, Tim (Linda) Rothenbach, Tracy Harris, Mindy Richter, Rod Wienke, Sarah (Steve Locher) Crane, Rachel, Stephen, Hannah, and Olivia Crane, Philip, Matthew, and Michael Golian, Abigail Lineback, Chelsea Long, Rita and Jack Menke, and Dylan Wienke; Great grandchildren, Aaron Rothenbach, Henry Crane Locher and triplets soon to be born; sisters-in-law, Mardell Davis and Bessie Davis; many nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rita Harris; infant son, William Ronald; sister, Iola (Ralph) Bright; brothers, Gerald Davis, Aulden (Elsie) Davis, Paul (Nina) Davis, Reynold (Inez) Davis, and Claude (Elva) Davis. Pearl loved family and God above all else. She always cared for the needy. She loved playing pinochle, checkers, enjoyed walks and bird watching.
