Patrick Alan West

Patrick Alan West, 57, of Mason City, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. As per his wishes, his body has been cremated. His family will have a private gathering at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Patrick West memorial fund in care of the family.

Patrick Alan West was born November 29, 1957 in Britt, IA, the son of Cletus and Janet (Reibsamen) West. Pat was raised in Wesley, IA and eventually moved to Des Moines before returning to Northern Iowa and settling in Mason City. Pat worked various construction jobs over the years. He enjoyed golfing, bicycling, politics, reading and good music. Pat had a huge heart and gave more than he ever had. Pat loved to talk about life and reminisce about fun times he had with friends and family.

Pat is survived by 8 siblings including his best friend and brother: Mike (Janis) West of Wesley, IA, LuAnn (Douglas) Widen of Cedar Falls, IA, LaDonna (Charles) Struckman of Bellevue, IA, Lynnette (John) Sorensen of West Des Moines, IA, Lorri (Greg) Helleckson of Reno, NV, Linda (Greg) Hendren of Cedar Falls, Rob (Denae) West of West Des Moines and Rich (Diane) West of Des Moines, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
