Olive Welsh

Olive R. Welsh, 98 of Clear Lake died Monday, June 30, 2003 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral services for Olive will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday July 7, 2003 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Ed Bard, Chaplain ? Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation for Olive will be held 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, July 6, 2003. Memorials may be given to the Olive R. Welsh Memorial Fund. Olive was born March 28, 1905 the daughter of Fred and Katherine (Altes) Enabnit on a farm near Mingo, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Vincent Welsh on July 22, 1922 at the Evangelical Church in Mason City. Olive and her husband farmed for many years south of Mason City until they retired and moved to their new home in P.M. Park in Clear Lake where they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Olive loved to camp and fish with her husband in Minnesota. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed her flowers she grew. Before she went blind, Olive also loved Tatting and reading her Bible and. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Olive was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory are: Daughter:Avonne Gradin of Mason City Sister-in-law:Myrtle Enabnit of Nora Springs Grandson:Marlin Gradin and friend Kathy Grimsley of Clear Lake Great Grand-daughters: Tracy Gradin of Mason City Tara Gradin and friend Chris of Mason City Great-Great Grandsons: Chase Jacobson of Mason City Micha Radcliff of Mason City Many Nieces, Nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vincent, seven brothers: Dave, Art, Elgin, Carroll, Harold and Ivan, son-in-law, Clarence (Bob) Gradin, one infant grandson, Timothy Gradin, and an infant great-great grandson, Zade Gradin-Legios.
