Nellie F. Swanson, 100, of Mason City, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday (October, 4 2006) at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Kathy Graves officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church. Nellie was born in Rudd, IA the daughter of Harvey and Marie (Baumgart) Roy. She received her education in Rudd and graduated in 1925. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed Square Dancing with her late husband. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rebecca Circle, The Ladies Aide, and she also taught Sunday School for many years. Nellie is survived by her grandchildren, Kim Allen-Ohanian and husband Michael of O?Fallon, MO, Terry Saathoff and wife Robin of Mason City; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Amber Allen of O?Fallon, MO, and Wade Johnson of Mason City, and Alexis and Christian Ohanian of O?Fallon, MO; sister, Helen Soy of Ames, IA and several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter in 1997; daughter, Sondra Saathoff; brothers, Arthur Roy and Everett Roy; sisters, Elsie Roy, Cleone Roy, Hazel Smith, and Luella Swanson.
