Mary Jo Pavek

Mary Jo Pavek, 82, of Mason City, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M., Thursday, March 7, 2019 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 100 First St. N.E., in Mason City with Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. A graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service at 12 noon, Thursday at Elmwood – St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Memorials may be directed to First Congregational United Church of Christ, Lime Creek Nature Center or to the donor’s charity of choice in memory of Mary Jo Pavek.

Mary Jo Pavek, the daughter of Anthony and Avis (Bloom) Pavek, was born August 4, 1936 in Mason City. She attended and graduated from Mason City High School in 1954. She worked as a secretary at an insurance agency in Mason City and helped take care of her parents. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and bird watching.

She was a lifetime member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Mary Jo is survived by her sister, Joyce Pavek of Mason City and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
