Martha H. Meyer

Martha H. Meyer, 98, of Mason City, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at First Assembly of God Church, 1301 N. Carolina Avenue, with Pastor Jerry Miller, Open Bible Church – Waterloo, IA, officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday (December 21, 2011) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial may be directed to the Martha Meyer memorial fund, in care of the family. Martha was born on March 23, 1913, in Pembroke, Ontario Canada, the daughter of Gustave F. and Elizabeth (Eickler) Ruhnke. She moved to Mason City when she was 1 year old. Martha worked at Decker’s meat packing for 2 years, North Iowa Mercy Hospital for 19 years, and Holiday Inn laundry for 3 years. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. She is survived by three sons and one daughter: John Ebbers and wife Nancy of Rock Falls, IA, Joe Reiff and wife Julia of Lockeford, CA, Al Reiff and wife Barbara of Ankeny, IA, and Ruth Thompson of Phenix City, AL; one daughter-in-law: Rayette Ebbers of Britt, IA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Ernest L. Meyer in 1977, son: Donald Ebbers, and a son in infancy. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery

Memorial may be directed to the Martha Meyer memorial fund, in care of the family.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday (December 21, 2011) at Major Erickson Funeral Home
