MASON CITY ? Marjorie L. Quam, 83 of Mason City died Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 17, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 North Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Donald Simmonds officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Elmwood ? St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, Trinity Lutheran Church or World Mission Prayer League. Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue, (641)423-0924 is in charge of arrangements. Marjorie was born March 13, 1922 the daughter of Harold and Lena (Sorenson) Kleven in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She attended Augsburg College and the Lutheran Bible Institute. Marjorie was united in marriage to the Rev. John L. Quam on December 28, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She participated and helped with the ministry of her husband. They served many communities including: Vienna, South Dakota, Newman Grove, Nebraska, Tanga, Tanzania, rural Osage, Muscatine, Iowa, Brandon and Morgan, Minnesota. While in Morgan, Minnesota, Marjorie took a position as the Librarian at the Morgan Public Library for five years. Following their retirement they moved to Mason City. Marjorie was and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Marjorie is survived by her son, Steven Quam and wife Lois of Richfield, Minnesota; daughters, Virginia Zimmerman of Mason City and Susan Purnell of Honolulu, Hawaii; granddaughter, Hadley Quam; grandsons, David Quam, Aaron Anderson and wife Paula and Jonathan Anderson; great granddaughter, Penelope Anderson; and a brother, John Kleven of Willow River, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rev. John L. Quam and brothers, Harold Kleven and Edward Kleven.
