Marilee K. Strasser, 86, of Mason City, IA, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at the IOOF Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th Street N.E., with Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. Interment will take place at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday (September 6, 2013) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be directed to the Marilee Strasser memorial fund in care of the family. Marilee was born August 30, 1926, in Hayfield, IA, the daughter of Robert and Alta (Slawson) Pigman. In 1944, she graduated from Britt High School in Britt, IA. Marilee married Laurence Best, and to this union 7 children were born: Larry, Phillip, Marcia, Gerald, Robert, Darlene, and Cindy. She was later remarried to Warren Strasser. Marilee enjoyed spending time with family – especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidery and traveling to Britt for her monthly luncheon with classmates. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Marilee is survived by 5 children: Larry Best and wife Dawn of Waterloo, IA, Phillip Best and wife Kathy of Mason City, Marcia Best of Mason City, Darlene King and husband Mitch of Mason City and Cindy Tremblay and husband Ryan of Alaska; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and 1 sister: Lois Bauer of Garner, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Warren in 1978; 2 sons: Gerald and Robert Best; 1 granddaughter: Rhonda Best; 1 sister: Doris Montgomery; and 1 brother: Billie Pigman.

Cemetery:
Interment will take place at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery

Memorials may be directed to the Marilee Strasser memorial fund in care of the family.

Visitation:
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday (September 6, 2013) at Major Erickson Funeral Home
