Margie May (Goodroad) Hall was the second of four children born to Mildred Mae (Lynch) Goodroad and Orza Lenard Goodroad in Brookings, South Dakota on May 15, 1924. She attended school in Brookings, South Dakota and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. On September 2, 1943, Margie married Dexter Henry “Dick” Anderson in Canton, South Dakota. They lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They had one son, Gary, born to them. Four months thereafter, Dick was killed as a result of an accident when the commercial truck he was driving was hit by a train. He died on June 28, 1944. Margie married James Loyd Hall on April 19, 1946 in Canton, South Dakota. Margie and Jim lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and had two children, Pamela Marcene (Hall) Erickson, and Mark Louis Hall. Margie worked for Raven Industries in Sioux Falls as maintenance supervisor until her semi-retirement in 2000. She then moved to Mason City, Iowa, and began working for Hy-Vee West until her full retirement in 2009. In her youth, Margie loved ballroom dancing at the Arkota Ballroom in Sioux Falls. On the day they announced the end of World War II Margie was working in downtown shop. When she stepped out to the street, she was whisked off her feet by a jubilant fellow and in a celebratory fashion was passed down the entire length of the block, her feet never touching the ground the entire way. This was a favorite memory of hers. Margie enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family – most especially her grandchildren and she was proud to help provide childcare for her great-grandson, Nathan. She loved her job at Hy-Vee as she spent time not only serving customers, but becoming their friend. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, daughter Pam Erickson of Mason City, son Mark (Kay) Hall of Lincoln, Nebraska, 10 grandchildren, James, Kimberly, Timothy and Thomas, Irving, Texas, Lee (Ashley) of Los Angeles, California, Adam, Alex and Ethan of Lincoln, Nebraska, Steven of Des Moines, Iowa, and Amy (Craig) of Mason City, 4 great grandchildren and two sisters, Charlotte Kukuk of Lanesboro, Minnesota, and Marcene Chapman of Coon Rapids, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dexter Anderson and James Hall, one son, Gary, one brother, Eugene, and her parents. .

Condolences may be sent in care of the family at 1306 North Virginia Ave, Mason City, Iowa 50401.
