MASON CITY: Margaret E. Aspenson, 79, formerly of Mason City, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. James Magelssen officiating. Interment will be 2:00 PM in Lutheran Cemetery, Decorah, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, KCMR Radio or donor?s choice. Margaret was born February 4, 1928 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Walter and Edna (Bock) Harvey. She graduated from Quincy High School, MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois and received her Masters Degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Margaret was a piano instructor at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and later Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She married Oscar Aspenson Jr. March 14, 1959 in Quincy. The Aspenson?s moved to Mason City in 1962 from Decorah. Margaret was a volunteer piano accompanist for music contests for many years in the Mason City area. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Matinee Musical, where she was past president, Maria Mitchell Study Club, PEO Chapter DZ and a volunteer at KCMR Radio. Margaret is survived by her 3 sons, Thomas E. Aspenson of Waukesha, Wisconsin, David P. Aspenson and wife Susan of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Eric J. Aspenson and wife Mary of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Alexandra Rae Johnson, Peter Thomas Aspenson, Hayley Anne Aspenson and Benjamin Eric Aspenson; brother, Jack Harvey of Alexandria, Virginia. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Oscar in 1993.
