Marcy Nicole Wiltsie

October 6, 1968 — April 27, 2011

Marcy Nicole Leonard Wiltsie, 42, of Mason City, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. A memorial celebration will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1309 S. Kentucky Avenue. A private family interment service has taken place at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
Nicole was born October 5, 1968 in Bellevue, Washington, the daughter of Gerald and Lynnita (Park) Leonard. She grew up in Seattle, Washington and Southern California. Nicole graduated from Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, California and received her BA degree in education from Buena Vista University and her MA degree in education from St. Mary's University, Winona, Minnesota. Nicole married Tim Wiltsie on August 27, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They moved to Mason City that same year. Nicole taught school at Roosevelt and John Adams Middle Schools for 16 years. She truly enjoyed teaching. She was an active member of her church and loved to travel and spend time with her family. Nicole had a very long, brave, and courageous battle with cancer, but still was able to enjoy and live life to its fullest. Nicole is survived by her loving husband, Tim and son, Alex of Mason City; father, Gerald Leonard of Wilton, CA; mother, Lynnita P Leonard of Orange County, CA; brother, Landry Leonard of McKinleyville, CA; sisters, Brittany Quinn Leonard of Baja California, Mexico, Sydney Leonard of Orange County, CA, and Courtney Rayner (nephews Charlie and Dylan) of Orange County, CA. Nicole is also survived by parents-in-law Ken and Carol Wiltsie of The Villages, FL; sister-in-law Kathy (Doyle) Lahti of Northfield, MN; and brother-in-law Doug (Nancy) Wiltsie of Mason City.
