Lulu V. Kramer

Lulu V. Kramer, 94, of Bend, Oregon formerly of Mason City, died Saturday (December 27, 2003) in Bend, Oregon. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Swaledale United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce E. Wittern officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Swaledale. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, and continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer?s Association. Lulu was born July 25, 1909 near Klemme, Iowa the daughter of William and Martha (Gast) Prull. She graduated from Garner High School in 1926 and received a two year teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls in 1928. Lulu taught elementary school in Swaledale from 1928 to 1935. While teaching, she met George Kramer and they were married May 28, 1935 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Kramer?s lived in Waukee for 45 years, Hampton, 3 years and moved to Mason City in 1992. Lulu moved to Portland, Oregon in 1997 then to Bend in 2002. She was active in the Waukee Methodist Church and women?s club and kept busy with her three children and George?s career as Manager of the Waukee Co-op Grain Elevator. Lulu is survived by her children, Dick Kramer and wife Sharon of Penn Valley, CA, Don Kramer and wife Marianne of Bend, OR, Marilyn Sassman and husband Ron of Blue Eye, MO; grandchildren, Steve Kramer and wife Kelly of Pleasanton, CA, Scott Kramer and wife Carie of Livermore, CA, Stephanie Kramer McGuire and husband Eric of Portland, OR, Kelly Kramer Matsushima and husband Ryan of Tigard, OR and 3 great grandchildren. Lulu was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; sisters, Pearl Folkers of Grand Rapids, MI and Ruth Weber of Ackley; brother, Clifford Prull of Geneva.
