MINNEAPOLIS, MN: Luella Zanios Rumeliote, 91, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2008 surrounded by family. Formerly of Mason City, Iowa, Luella moved to Minneapolis to be close to her dearly loved family.\r\n
\r\n
Preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Costa, parents James and Vasiliki (Bessie) Zanios, and 9 sisters and brothers: Marie Malakataris, Fala Soumas, Stella Pathoulas, Jean James, George Zanios, Tom Zanios, Gertrude Ringus, Elizabeth Paras and Chris Zanios.\r\n

She is survived by her daughters Tena Zahariades, Bloomington, MN and Elaine Boosalis (James), Bloomington, MN. Grandchildren Stephanie Stephenson (Sean) of Phoenix, AZ, Krisanthya Reiman (Dean) of Elk River, MN, Andrea Pfleider (Greg) of Plymouth, MN and Michael Boosalis (Maggie) of San Antonio, TX. Her four precious treasures, great grandchildren Nicole Zahariades, Reinnen Pfleider, Tatum Pfleider and Samuel Stephenson. She is survived by one sister Helen Berris of Detroit, MI.\r\n

Born August 7, 1917 in Mason City, Luella was one of 11 children. She married Costa D. Rumeliote in October 1938. Luella and her husband founded Costas Supper Club in Mason City. After Costas untimely death in 1955, she continued to operate the club until the late 1960s. She loved her family and enjoyed baking and cooking her special recipes for them and others. Luella also loved gardening, playing cards with friends and family as well as being active in the hospitality business. She was involved in the Greek Orthodox Church both in Mason City and Minneapolis, and particularly enjoyed St. Marys Seniors Group. She was limitless in her caring and nurturing.\r\n

The family would like to thank everyone at Mount Olivet Home and especially Jeff Schleif and the staff of the 3rd floor, as well as Dr. Jennifer Olson of Park Nicollet Clinic.\r\n

A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 20th at St. Marys Greek Orthodox Church, 3450 Irving Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota.\r\n
\r\n
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd at 10:00 AM at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration, 1311 2nd Street SW Mason City, Iowa, with Rev. Joseph Mirowski officiating. Trisagion prayer services will be held on Monday, September 22nd at 6:00 PM at the church. The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 6 PM. Internment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.\r\n
