Lowell Wayne Foell was born on August 31, 1931 in Sycamore, IL, the son of Perry and Katheryn (Walker) Foell. After graduating from the Nora Springs School, he worked for two years with the F.B.I. in Washington D.C. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army and spent two years at Fort Hood in Texas. On December 28, 1952, he was united in marriage to Irma L. Carle at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Mason City. In December they would have had their 58th wedding anniversary. After his time in the service Wayne attended Barber School in Des Moines and was a barber in Mason City at various shops for over 50 years. Wayne loved to cook and he served lots of good meals even in the last few weeks. We have many cookbooks, in which he enjoyed reading, and he was always ready for a new one. Besides cooking, he loved flowers, gardening, and feeding the birds. He was always ready to plant a new tree. He loved to have friends in and was always finding some trivia to share. Wayne also loved music. One of the most special days of the year for Wayne was going to the Floyd Gospel Sing.

Wayne had many health problems over the past several years, he went through them all without complaining. Thank the Lord, there will be no more pain, IVs, pick lines, pills, canes, walkers, and so many Doctor visits.

Wayne was a member of the Hanford Community Church where he served on various church boards and was a Sunday School teacher. In 1971, Wayne was apart of a group that went to Bogot, Columbia to work on the building of a church. This was through the Oriental Missionary Society.

Living family members include his wife: Irma; his mother: Katheryn; his five children: Lori Kray (Dennis) of Berlin, WI, LaNae Wales (Craig) of Mason City, Mark Foell (Mary) of Raytown, MO, Lisa Foell of Phoenix, AZ, and David Foell of Fort Madison, IA; six grandchildren: Katie Kray and Fianc Brad Warwick, Karrie Kray, Nate Wales, Amber Wales (Damon), Johnny Swearinger, Brittney Tubbs (Rashaun); five great grandchildren: Kiaya, Ariana, Talan, Tre and Amari; three special God children: Matthew Holmes, Joe Kennedy, and Leisha Bielefield; one sister-in-law: Barbara Foell (Gordon Foell).

Waynes most special times were spending time with his family and friends. Just three weeks ago, Irma, Wayne, and his mom, had a wonderful trip to Kansas and Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his father: Perry Foell; brothers: Max and Gordon; his grandparents; many aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
