Lowell ?Bob? Gallagher, 78, of 816 S Louisiana Avenue, died Monday, January 29, 2007 at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids, Minnesota from injuries he sustained from a fall. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Kathy Graves officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to the Lowell ?Bob? Gallagher Memorial Fund. Bob was born April 18, 1928 in Mason City the son of Clarence E. and Lillian F. (Hicks) Gallagher. He attended school in Mason City. Bob served in the US Army from October of 1946 till March of 1948. Following his discharge, he returned to Mason City where he worked for Jacob E. Decker and Sons, Armour Company, for over 27 years. He went on to work for Midland Co-op and North Iowa Co-op as a truck driver. Bob retired from North Iowa Co-op in 1993. Following retirement, Bob worked for Farmers Co-op and drove cars for Schukei Chevrolet. Bob enjoyed working on cars, camping, spending time with his family and having coffee at the Hy-Vee Deli. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW. Bob is survived by his children, Cheryl Hermanson and husband Bill of Mason City, Larry Gallagher and wife Nancy of Mason City, Lynn Gallagher and wife Holly of Quincy, Illinois and Julie Gallagher of Mason City; grandchildren, Scott Hermanson and wife Heather of Mason City, Ryan Gallagher of Mason City, Shelby Dwyer and husband Mike of Clear Lake, Jason Gallagher of Mason City, Jenny, Jeff and Jonathan Gallagher of Quincy, Illinois; great grandchildren, Gavin and Lauren Hermanson of Mason City and Quintin Masteller of Clear Lake; sisters, Lola Allen of Paris, Texas, Gladys ?Dode? Tosel of Mason City, June Pope and husband Wayne of Mason City; sisters-in-law, Clarice Dietrich of Kensett and Grace Narveson of Manly; brother-in-law, Frank Funk and wife Marge of Mason City; many special nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris in December of 2006; great granddaughter, Hannah Hermanson; sisters, Eva Seuferer, Ella Mae Funk and Lillian Allen Walters.
