Lorraine Lucille Weller

Lorraine L. Weller, 99, of Rock Falls, died Monday, October 15, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Old Stone United Methodist Church, Rock Falls, IA with Pastor Sue Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church Friday.

Lorraine was born June 21, 1919 the daughter of Carl and Barbara (Dedina) Hansen in rural Rock Falls, Iowa. On September 7, 1940 Lorraine was united in marriage to Fred Weller in Plymouth, Iowa. To this union a son, Rolland was born.

Lorraine was a very social person who enjoyed entertaining friends and hosting card club gatherings. Her routine of supper on Sunday night with cards to follow and topped off with dessert was a great opportunity for her to try new recipes on her family and friends. She loved to bake and share her goodies with all who stopped. She was a member of the 100 year old L.U.G.A. card club of which her mother and step mother had also been a members. Over the years she enjoyed snowmobiling with her husband and their friends and going on many couple’s adventures. Lorraine operated the Weller Grocery Store for many years in Rock Falls.

Those thankful for having shared in Lorraine’s life include her son, Rolland Weller; niece, Marilyn (Robert) Hyde; nephew, Gary Hansen; sister in law, Betty Godfrey; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step mother, Doris Hansen; brother, Loyd Hansen; twin brother, LeRoy Hansen; step brother, Donovan (Deween) Allen; brother in law, Gilbert Weller and a special family friend, John Cunningham.
