Lois M. Bergland

Lois M. Bergland, 89, of 302 2nd St. NE, died Saturday (February 14, 2004) at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Paul Finger, St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Telephone Reassurance. Lois was born March 24, 1914 in Bode, Iowa the daughter of Josef G. and Alvida H. (Rossing) Hanson. She graduated from Mason City High School, attended Mason City Junior College and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA degree. In 1943 Lois married Robert Bergland. She was active in numerous community affairs including serving of the board of the Higly Home, served as chairperson of the care review committee at Good Shepherd Health Center, was a 60 year member of PEO chapter GN, Phoenician Club and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Esther Circle. There are no immediate survivors. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; twin sister, Lorna and a brother, Joseph Jr.
