MASON CITY: Lois G. Tanner, 83, of Mason City, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Ed Bard, Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2011 at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Lois G. Tanner memorial fund in care of the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com Lois G. Foss was born June 5, 1928 in Forest City, Iowa the daughter of Clairence and Alice (Thompson) Foss. She was raised and attended school in Forest City. She was united in marriage to Walter Tanner Sr. on April 5, 1950 in Bethel Lutheran Church in Joice, Iowa, to this union two children were born. Lois enjoyed collecting dolls and anything else she found interesting. She loved all types pets and they were a very special part of her life. Lois was a people person and loved engaging in a conversation with almost anyone. Lois’s family was very important to her and she loved the times she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Walter Tanner Sr. of Mason City; children, Walter Tanner Jr. and wife Sue of Mason City and Alice Stille and husband Bruce of Mason City; 6 grandchildren, Kim Traurig and husband Brian, Tammy Johnson and husband Jason, Heather Gansen and husband Jeff, Alex Stille and wife Jennifer, Troy Stille and Jessica Stille; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Clarice Fank, Mary Starn and June Gibbs; and several nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Foss; and sister, Helen Fank.

Cemetery:
Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Lois G. Tanner memorial fund in care of the family.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2011 at Major Erickson Funeral Home.

Service:
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Ed Bard, Hospice Chaplain officiating.
