Linda G. Smith

January 27, 1946 — June 2, 2010

Mason City Linda G. Smith, age 64, of Mason City, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home after a long battle with many illnesses. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 South Pennsylvania, with Rev. Brent Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the church service. Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Linda Smith Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Linda was born January 27, 1946 in Mason City, the daughter of John and Lavonne (Eckard) Waslick. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1964. Linda married Ron Smith on May 7, 1988 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Linda enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandson. She also enjoyed crafts, car rides with her husband, reading and music especially Elvis. Linda was also a very kind, compassionate and giving person with a good sense of humor.

Linda is survived by her husband: Ron Smith of Mason City; her children: Shellie Johanns and husband Mike of Grafton, IA, Shannon Dodd and husband Mark of Mason City; five grandchildren: Tyler Johanns and wife Cari, Jared Johanns, Maddison, Emily, and Sarah Dodd; one great grandson: Trey Johanns; her mother: Lavonne Dority; her siblings: Garianne Fuller, Devvy Waslick, Jay Waslick, and Johnnie Waslick. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father: John Waslick.

Memorials may be directed to the Linda Smith Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery

Visitation will be one hour prior to the church service
