Lilly E. Fransen, 94, of Mason City, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. James Magelssen officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM -7:00 P.M. on Friday (March 2, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be directed to the Lilly Fransen memorial fund in care of the family. Lilly was born February 7, 1918, in Lake Mills, IA, the daughter of Andrew and Laura (Petersen) Nordahl. She attended school in Northwood and Lake Mills, Iowa. On May 1, 1939, Lilly married Paul A. Fransen in Mason City. Lilly loved her job at Mercy Hospital, where she worked as a housekeeper (Coronary/ICU Unit) for 15 years, before retiring in 1988. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Lilly enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her flower garden, and taking walks. She also enjoyed pencil drawings, and was a very talented artist. Lilly is survived by two sons: Paul Fransen and wife Mary of Des Moines, IA, and Bruce Fransen and wife Shelia of Mason City; 3 grandchildren: Jeannie, Jace, and Mary; 5 great grandchildren: Tyler, Courtney, Gage, Mitch, and Ella; and two step grandchildren: Marc (Laura) Powers and Christopher (Michelle) Powers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1988, 3 brothers: Palmer, Elmer, and Andrew Nordahl; 1 sister: Alice Fransen; daughter-in-law: Judy Fransen; and grandson: Jim Fransen.

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery

Memorials may be directed to the Lilly Fransen memorial fund in care of the family

Visitation:
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM -7:00 P.M. on Friday (March 2, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home

Service:
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church
