Perry was born the 4th of 7 children on Sept 24th,1935 to Benjamin F. Hull & Adeline (Goodman) Hull.
He graduated from Garner High School in 1955 were he was active in sports and band.
He joined the Navy (as his father had) in 1955 and received an honorable discharge in 1959.
He attended one year at Mason City Junior College where he met Maxine Schultz, and then married on June 4th, 1960.

He was blessed with 6 children: L. Perry Hull Jr. of Mason City, IA, Dr. Nathan M. Hull of Urbandale, IA, Margo M. Hull-Saunders of Cave Creek, AZ, twins Mary and Joseph and Morgan J. Hull of Rochester, MN.
The majority of his employment was dedicated to Lehigh Portland Cement Co where he performed Quality Control Lab work for 35 years.
His interests included feeding the song birds and crows, performing his magic coin trick for children, traveling through the US during his annual camping trips with his family and eventually, world travel with his wife. Where ever he went,he brought out the smiles in those he met.
He was known by many in town throughout his life for his daily bike rides with his dog at his side. He also enjoyed taking rides with his grandchildren.
He had always enjoyed wood working and of all the incredible items he had created or restored, he always talked of a recent piece of scrap wood he turned into a beautiful hand rail. He always enjoyed the feel of the finished pieces.
Perry enjoyed the past 13 years of retirement by traveling the world, playing cards and games with friends and family, volunteering at St. Josephs Catholic Church and at the voting poles, fund raising for Cancer Relay For Life, playing his tuba with the New Horizon Band, volunteering at the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank, and with great passion, visiting his children and grandchildren for all the special occasions. It was with great regret that he was not going to be able to see all his grandchildren grow to adulthood.
He always had time to help anyone who needed it and had been considered a father to and loved by many more then just his four children.
