Larry D. Kraus, 73, of 403 10th Street NW, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday at Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th Street NW, with Rev. Brent Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before services on Monday. Memorials may be given to the Larry D. Kraus Memorial Fund.

Larry was born September 10, 1937 in Lake City, Iowa the son of James and Dorothy (Andrews) Kraus. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1956. Through the years, Larry was employed at Target and Bonanza here in Mason City. He served with the Iowa National Guard and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge. A few of Larrys interests included reading, baseball, collecting NASCAR trailers, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and Budweiser Steins. His greatest joy was spoiling his two grandchildren, Bailey and Brayden.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sue Kraus of Mason City; son, Kevin (Jana) Kraus and their two children, Bailey and Brayden of Mason City; daughters, Kimberly and Kari Kraus of Mason City; former wife, Janice Jackie Kraus of Mason City; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Richard Bindel of Forest City; niece, Melanie Leber of Forest City; nephew, Scott Leber of Forest City; great nephew, Brandon Leber, and great niece, Becca Berkley.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kathy.
