Karen Y. Reinhart

Karen Y. Reinhart, 65, of 1445 Birch Drive, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. There are no services scheduled. Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa School of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Westside Cemetery, rural Marble Rock. Memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels or Hospice of North Iowa. Karen was born September 4, 1940 in rural Scott Township near Marble Rock the daughter of Roger M. and Beth E. (Hillman) Reinhart. She graduated from Marble Rock High School in 1958. After a one year business course at Hamilton School of Commerce in Mason City, Karen began her career at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Mason City. She held various positions with the company in Mason City and Des Moines before transferring to Omaha, Nebraska in 1984. In 1990, she retired from US West (Quest) with more than 30 years of service. Karen returned to Mason City in 1992 to be closer to her family and enjoy her retirement. She joined the Mason City Women?s Club and spent time having lunch with friends at tea rooms and playing cards. Karen was an active member of Business and Professional Women?s Club and Administrative Management Society while working. Karen is survived by her mother, Beth Reinhart of Marble Rock; aunt, Thelma Carman of Des Moines and several cousins. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Roger Reinhart; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
