June 23, 1919 — January 17, 2012

June E. Bernhardt, 92, of Plymouth, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Victory in Christ Free Methodist Church, 604 23rd St SW – Mason City, with Rev. Larry Day officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00PM on Friday (January 20, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be at the Rock Falls Cemetery in Rock Falls, IA. Memorials may be directed to the June Bernhardt memorial fund in care of the family. June was born on June 23, 1919, in Rockford, IA, the daughter of James L. and Sophia (Fuller) Brewer. She attended school in Cloverton, MN. On August 19, 1941, June married Victor B. Bernhardt in Albert Lea, MN. In 1945, the couple moved to Mason City, and in 1955, they moved to a farm near Plymouth. June worked for Ben Franklin, Sam Raizes, and K-Mart – before retiring in the early 1980’s. She was a member of Victory in Christ Free Methodist Church. June enjoyed spending time with her family and taking her dog for car rides. She also enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, baking for the church, and taking care of her flower and vegetable garden. June is survived by her children: Victor Bernhardt of Kansas City, MO, Gary Bernhardt and wife Karen of Plymouth; grandchildren: Kelly Janak and husband Jahn of Urbandale, IA, Casey Bernhardt and wife Sharon of Anderson, IN, Matt Bernhardt of Mason City, John Bernhardt and wife Angela of Mason City; step-grandchildren: Jodi Mariner and husband Rod of Mason City, Jerry Billick and wife Janet Mason City, Becky Baker of Mason City, Marcia Hugo and husband Randy of Longmont, CO, and Mike Billick and wife Sheri of Lompoc, CA; 20 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Claudia Paulson of Mason City and Genevieve Hoeppner Buffalo Center, IA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1979; 3 sons in infancy; 2 brothers: James and Fletcher Brewer and 3 sisters: Florence Brewer, Rilla Turner and Helen Eggena.

Interment will be at the Rock Falls Cemetery in Rock Falls, IA
