Julie A. Emhoff

Julie A. Emhoff, 74, of Sheffield, IA, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, IA. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the First Grace Baptist Church, 404 East Gilman Street - Sheffield, with Rev. Ken Livingston officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Sheffield Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, September 1, 2017, at the First Grace Baptist Church. Memorials may be directed to the Julie Emhoff memorial fund in care of the family.

Julie was born September 20, 1942, in Mason City, IA, the daughter of Don C. and Kathryn G. (James) Shields. She graduated from Burchinal High School and continued her education at Mason City Jr. College. On June 14, 1964, Julie married Keith D. Emhoff at the Zion St. John Lutheran Church in Sheffield. Over the years, she worked for Dr. Orton, Dr. Polking and Dr. Steven Brau until her retirement. She also did the book work for Emhoff Trucking. Julie enjoyed spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed riding horses, attending horse shows, watching her grandchildren play ball, decorating for the holidays, riding with her husband in the truck and making trips to Northwood. Julie was a member of Zion St. John Lutheran Church and the Grandma’s Club.

Julie is survived by 3 sons: Jon Emhoff of Sheffield, Jim Emhoff and wife Donna of Sheffield, and Chad Emhoff of Sheffield; 7 grandchildren: Jesse, Jake, Nick, Cody, Clay, Brooke and Brandon Emhoff – all of Sheffield, IA; great granddaughter: Addison Emhoff; and brother: Don “Sonny” Shields and wife Kathy of DeKalb, IL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2013; and sister: Donna Worley.
