John M. Jack" Weber

August 23, 1926 — June 19, 2008

Mason City - John Jack M. Weber, 81, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.  A memorial mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 302 5th St. S.E., with the Rev. Craig Steimel officiating.  Inurnment will be held in Elmwood - St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors performed by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.  Upon Jacks wishes his body was cremated. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, July 7, 2008 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with a Scriptural Wake Service held at 6:30 PM.
 
John was born August 23rd, 1926 in Mason City, the son of John T. and Grace E (Haase) Weber.  He Graduated from Mason City High School and attended some Junior college in Mason City.  John was all state first baseman on the 1944 Mason City Mohawk State championship team.  John worked as a Brick Mason, Secretary/Treasurer of Brick Layers Local #21, Board member of North Iowa Area Community Credit Union, and served in the Navy during World War II on Okinawa
John was united in marriage to Alida T. Younke February 5th, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City. Johns greatest love was his wife and family gatherings, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, playing golf and bowling.
 
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Alida Weber, son John and Daughter in Law Jolayne Weber, Daughter Jan and Son in Law Jeff Crane, Grandchildren Joseph Weber, Jennifer Dubberke, Charlie Crane, step Grandchildren Jessica Schultz, Seth Hagenson, Great Grandchildren Celia, Shasha and Natasha Dubberke, step Grandchildren Zackary Hagenson, Camden Schultz, Sister Marge Secory, Nephew Ron Secory and Niece Cynthia Hartema. His parents, John and Grace Weber, Sisters Evelyn Bailey, Gretchen Neumann, and niece Sharon Newmann preceded John in death.
