John M. Huff

John M. Huff, 78, of St. Petersburg, FL, and formerly of Mason City, IA died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in St. Petersburg. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue – Mason City, with Pastor Matthew Muters of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 2502 South Jefferson Avenue, Mason City, IA 50401.

John was born December 1, 1937 in Mason City, IA, the son of Lee O. and Lillian E. (Stewart) Huff. He graduated from Mason City High School. John married Judith Harms November 1, 1958 in Mason City. John worked as a foreman for Interstate Power Company (Alliant Energy) for 44 years. He retired in 2000. A few years ago, he moved to Florida to live with his son, Steve.

John is survived by his son, Steven of St. Petersburg, Florida; 1 brother, Clifford (Jane) Huff of Hampton, Iowa and 1 sister, Vivian Groom of Joplin, Missouri.

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Judy; sons, Brett, Todd and Kelly; brothers, Leonard, Lee, Bill, Lynn, Norman, Calvin and David; and 1 sister, Eileen DeMaris.
