Jeanette M. Anderson

Jeanette M. Anderson, 92, of Mason City, IA, died Friday, September 16, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Pastor Kathy Graves of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice in memory of Jeanette.

Jeanette was born on October 5, 1923, in Mason City, the daughter of Sigurd and Hattie (Breitweiser) Johnson. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1941. Following graduation she worked at F.W. Woolworth. In February of 1944, she married Carrol D. “Andy” Anderson in Northwood, IA. They had 2 sons: Michael and David. Jeanette worked at the Park Hospital – later known as Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa before her retirement in 1980.
Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, genealogy, drawing and traveling. Jeanette was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she belonged to church circle. She was also a member of Trinity quilters, Trinity production bulletin team and the North Central Iowa Genealogy Club. She was also a Hospice volunteer.

Jeanette is survived by 1 son: Michael Anderson of Mason City; 5 grandsons: Lonnie, Brian, Jamie, Joey – all of Washington State and Jeremy Anderson of Mason City & their significant others; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by special friends: Kevin and Tonya Bergman of Mason City.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 son: David Anderson; 2 brothers: Edward and Bill Johnson; 1 sister: Alma Spargur; 2 nephews and 1 niece.
