Janice A. Snook

April 14, 1942 — November 29, 2016

Janice A. “Snookie” Snook, 74, of Mason City, IA, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Travis Stevick officiating. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Janice Snook memorial fund in care of the family.

Janice was born April 14, 1942, in Mason City, the daughter of Gerrit and Angeline (Brower) Willemsen. She attended school in the Des Moines area before returning to Mason City. On November 10, 1961, she married David L. Snook in Sioux Falls, SD. Janice was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed camping at Camp of the Woods and taking care of her dogs: Maggie, Sadie and Reba. Janice was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Janice is survived by 2 children: Kimberly Ellman and husband Randy of Northwood, IA and Michael Snook of Charles City, IA; 7 grandchildren: Chad, Nicole, Derrick, Ashley, Justin, Jennifer and Jason; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 sister: Phyllis Auld of Highland, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2004; 2 brothers: Marvin Willemsen and Wayne Willemsen; 1 sister: Linda Kay; 2 grandsons: David Snook and Dustin Wilson; and brother-in-law: Donald Auld.
