At age 5 the family moved to a farm, east of NIACC. Jim graduated from Newman High School in 1987. His entire life was centered on farming. On November 11, 2000, Jim married Julie Krull of Scarville at Holy Family Church in Mason City. His married life brought him back to the farm south of Plymouth. A daughter, Josie Jean was born on January 21, 2003. They divorced in 2007 and Jim moved to Plymouth. Jim was a loving son, brother and father. He loved his friends and his practical jokes often brought laughs and pleasures to others. He enjoyed stock car racing and going to NASCAR races. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and always recalled the trips to Wisconsin snowmobiling with his father-in-law, Keith and family and friends. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, making several trips to Sturgis, SD, and other scenic places with his sister Julie and brother-in-law Randy, and other motorcycle enthusiasts. Most of all, Jim enjoyed being with Josie.
