Irene W. Roth

Irene W. Roth, 95, of Clear Lake, died Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, February 3, 2017 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Ron Stein, First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home and continue Friday before the service. Memorials may be directed to the Irene Roth Memorial Fund.

Irene was born July 19, 1921 in Cambridge, Ohio the daughter of Roy and Neoma Williams. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1939 and went on to attend Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. Irene married Ed Roth December 5, 1943 in Cambridge. The Roth’s moved to Clear Lake in 1967 where they have resided since then. Irene worked as a manager then as a buyer for Damon’s Too here in Mason City for a number of years. She retired in 1982. Irene was a member of the First Baptist Church. A few of her interests included crafts, quilting, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Irene is survived by her husband, Ed of Clear Lake; 2 granddaughters, Chastity (Jed) Hemer of Waverly and Heather (Grant) Abele of Garner; daughter-in-law, Karen (KJ) Hueneman of Garner; 1 step granddaughter, Vicki Hueneman of Rochester, Minnesota; many great grandchildren; 1 brother, Eldred (Louise) Williams of Cambridge, Ohio; 2 nephews, Terry and David.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, son, David M. Roth; grandson, David J. Hueneman and a sister, Edna Coss.
