December 16, 1926 — July 25, 2012

Hermina M. Smith, 85, of Mason City, passed away peacefully and joined her husband John in heaven on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the IOOF Home. Upon her wishes, she was cremated and graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Hermina M. Smith memorial fund in care of the family. Hermina M. Smith was born December 16, 1926 in Thompson, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Tillie (Johnson) Westendorf. She attended schools in Thompson and Buffalo Center, Iowa. She was married to John W. Smith and was married for 62 years until his death. She loved to travel with her husband and together they traveled many of the fifty states. She loved spending time with her family and friends, her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor made her always a pleasure to be around. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Hermina is survived by her son, Mark Smith and wife Barbara of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Nathan Smith and wife Lori, Ryan Smith, Jamie Marshall and husband Steve, Cory Rubel and wife Alicia and Andrea Smith; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hagan, and Kaylan Smith, Mae and Sam Marshall, and Reese and Etta Rubel; sisters, Bonna Madsen and husband Richard and Tillie Spora of Mason City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; four brothers; and one sister.

Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center, Iowa.

Service:
Upon her wishes, she was cremated and graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center, Iowa.
