Helen G. Marin, 95 of Mason City, died Monday, March 29, 2004 at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. Funeral Services for Helen will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue with the Rev. Jo Frahm Watkins of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Helen G. Marin Memorial Fund or Hospice of North Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM ? 7:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Helen G. Cook was born March 25, 1909 the daughter of Adelbert and Maria (Bohen) Cook in Mason City, Iowa. She attended the Mason City public school system and graduated from Mason City High School in 1927. In 1941 she was united in marriage to Neil C. Marin in Reno, Nevada. Helen was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Mason City. She was a wonderful cook and loved to play cards. Helen enjoyed traveling, visiting with her friends and her grandchildren. She also loved to play games and word puzzles. Those left to cherish her memory are: her son, Dan M. Marin and wife Paula of Warner Springs, California; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Cole of Alamo, Texas; grandchildren, Dennis Cole and wife Diane of Iowa City, Iowa, Douglas Cole of Cedar Rapids, Delores Pargman and husband Del of Aurora, Colorado, Bob Nixson and wife Jackie of Aurora, Colorado, Laura Marin of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kathy Buxton of Grand Junction, Colorado, Carol McKay of Grand Junction, Colorado, Mary Holguin and husband Joey of Anaheim, California; two nieces, Shirley Anderson of Mason City and Mary Davis and husband Bob also of Mason City; she is also survived by seventeen Great Grandchildren and eight Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Neil; son, Dudley Cole; daughter, Beverly Nixson; sisters, Dorothy Eggers, Ethel Gray, Ruth Tillman, Carmen Bisgrove, Julia Baugh; brothers, Dick and Adelbert ?Dub? Cook; a half brother, Earl Bohen; and two half sisters, Myrtle Page and Mae Boat.
