Mason City, IA Gweneth C. Bond, 90, of Mason City, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at the Heritage Care Center in Mason City. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at First United Methodist Church WAY-side Chapel, 119 South Georgia Ave., Mason City, with Rev. Jim Stiles officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Gweneth C. Bond memorial fund in care of the family, 540 11th St. N.E. Mason City, Iowa 50401
Gweneth C. Bond was born August 8, 1920 in Mason City, IA the daughter of James H. and Orpha M. (Bates) Holub. She attended and graduated from Mason City High School. She was married to Jerold R. Bond in 1941, to this union one child, James was born. Jerold was killed in WWII in 1944. Gweneth worked at Mode-O-Day for 15 years, and did many duties, but was mainly a seamstress. Gweneth took care of her ailing parents as they aged and enjoyed caring and spending time with them. She enjoyed roller dancing, ice skating, swimming, boating, and spending time at the cottage in Clear Lake. She performed in many roller and ice skating shows in the area in her younger years and was a very talented skater. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and son James. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Gweneth will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, James L. Bond and wife Barbara of Mason City; brother, Vincent J. Holub of Fresno, CA; eight grandchildren, Dena Stone and husband Rob, Melinda Bond, Walter Bond, James Paulsen and wife Suzanne, Don Murl and wife Shelley, Sheri Murl, Ron Paulsen and Richard Murl; and seventeen great-grandchildren; niece, Pam Weldom of Fresno, CA and nephew, Tom Holub of Vajeo, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Jerold in WWII in 1944.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Gweneth C. Bond memorial fund in care of the family.

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel at the church on Tuesday.
