Goldie F. Boyd, 88, of 501 S. Kentucky, died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at the Heritage Care Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 119 S Georgia with Rev. Jim Stiles officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa. Goldie was born April 1, 1917 in Sheffield, Iowa the daughter of Harrison and Rosella (Sears) Bailey. Her family moved to Mason City at an early age where she graduated from Mason City High School. Goldie married James G. Boyd July 19, 1936 in Mason City. She cooked at Highland Park Golf Course then worked as a clerk at Grupp?s Grocery Store for 25 years. She retired in 1979. Goldie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, was involved in the prayer chain at the church and particularly enjoyed her class reunions. Goldie is survived by a daughter, Donna Jones and husband Denzil of Mason City, son, Glenn E. Boyd and wife Irene of Woodbury, Minnesota, daughter, Sandra Wyborny of Ankeny, son, William C. Boyd and wife Jolene of Mason City, daughter, Cookie Edwards and husband Lon of Princeton, Indiana; 7 grandsons, David Jones, Rick Wyborny, Mark Wyborny, Dallas Jones, James Boyd, Brant Boyd and Benjamin Boyd; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James; grandsons, Scott Wyborny and Stephen Boyd; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
