Georgetta V. Farrer, 88, of Mason City, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Good Shepherd Health Center. A prayer service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday (September 15, 2005) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Nick Knoth, Chaplain Good Shepherd Health Center officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa. Georgette was born on October 7, 1917 in Kanawha, Iowa the daughter of Clyde and Margaret Davison, she was the youngest of nine children. She attended school in Sheffield and graduated from Mason City High School. She was united in marriage to Lloyd J. Farrer on August 3, 1941. She and her husband were owners of J & L Tire Company for many years. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Jane Davison of Boone, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd in 1991; brothers, Bill Davison and wife Flora, Joe Davison and wife Lavonne, and Bob Davison; sisters, Vera Roderick and husband Lester, Marguerite Wirth and husband Burl, Gladys Dransfeldt and husband Robert, Charlotte Freudenberg and husband Carl, and Roberta Gilchriest and husband Earl.
