Gary Lee Mahlstedt, age 59, of 1625 South Massachusetts, died October 16, 2005. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday (October 19, 2005) at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Bill Poland officiating. Interment will take place in Elmwood-St. Joseph?s Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veteran?s Memorial Association. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday (October 18, 2005) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Gary L. Mahlstedt Memorial Fund. Gary L. Mahlstedt was born February 6, 1946 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Wendell and Jeanette (Carstensen) Mahlstedt. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1964, he then entered the Air Force serving for two years. He attended Technical School for automotives. He worked at John Deere Implement and White Farm Implement. He was currently working as an operator for Heartland Asphalt Company. He was an active member of A.A.. Gary enjoyed camping, NASCAR, spending time with family and grandkids, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Karen; mother, Jeanette Mahlstedt; son; Terry and wife Kris Mahlstedt, daughter, Toni Trujello and husband Ed, Tammy Hello and husband Mitch; step-sons, Jeff and wife Chris King, Mike King; honorary daughter, Michelle Winters and husband Jeremy; grandchildren and honorary grandchildren, Nathan, Stina, Chris, Shay, Joe, Lydia, Brett, Nick, Samantha, Callie, Tyler, Cody, Rumy, Little Eddy, Donovan, Lane, Will, Mackenzie, Chris, Cassandra, Colton, Raynee; sisters, Carol Peters and Karen Good and husband Larry. He is preceded in death by, his father, and two brothers, Robert and Scott.
