Our mom, Frankie L. Bowcock, 88, of Mason City, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center ? North Iowa, with her family at her side. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, October 5, 2007, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 100 1st Street N.E., with Pastor Patti Aurand officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave and also one hour prior at the church on Friday. She was born March 27th, 1919, the daughter of Frank and Etta (Peck) Holt in Madison SD. After her mothers? death in 1920, Frankie came to live with her aunt and uncle in Clear Lake. She graduated in 1937 from Clear Lake High School and later graduated from nurses training in Sioux City, Iowa as an RN. She later joined the Army Nurse Corp where she proudly and gladly served her country in England during World War II. After her discharge she was employed at Park Hospital in Mason City as an RN. She married Lewis T. Bowcock on April 22nd, 1946 at the First Congregational Church in Mason City Iowa. She was a loving mother to Dan, Ted, Chris, and Linda. With her devout faith, strength, and great sense of humor, she was a tiny woman with a big heart. She loved gardening, baking bread and was known for her Halloween cookies. She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church in Mason City, where she was active in its service. She served as a scout leader and loved working with kids. She loved animals and had numerous adopted pets. She enjoyed collecting small treasures such as spoons, animal figurines and anything with a pansy on it. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis, eldest son Dan and siblings. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Ted (Sue) Bowcock of Owatonna Minnesota; Chris (Raelynn) of Palm City Florida and a daughter Linda Bowcock of Mason City Iowa and her beloved cat Snoopy. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Frankie Bowcock memorial fund. She will be greatly missed.
