Frank R. Waller, 91 of 501 South Kentucky, died May 9, 2006 at Heritage Care Center. Upon his wishes his body was cremated and there is no visitation. Graveside Services will be held today at 1:30 P.M. at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Palo of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Veterans Rites will be conducted by the Mason City Memorial Association. Memorials may be directed to the Frank R. Waller memorial fund. Frank was born June 4, 1914 in Clear Lake, Iowa the son of J. Riley and Effie (Harris) Waller. He attended Clear Lake Schools. Frank enlisted in the Army and served during WWII and the Korean War. After his honorable discharge in 1950 he returned to Mason City and worked for the Armour (Deckers) Plant for forty years. In 1939 he was married to Bernadine VanBlair and to this union one son, Larry was born. They later divorced, Frank was remarried March of 1949 to Marion Hood. They both resided and made their home in Mason City. Frank loved to golf and was active in many tournaments in Mason City and the surrounding area. He also enjoyed watching golf, visiting Antique shops, and playing Bingo. He also enjoyed visiting Martha?s in Clear Lake for a piece of Pie with Jean. He was a former member of the V.F.W. Frank is survived by his daughter, Patricia Lames and husband Steve of Mason City; son, Larry Waller and wife Julie of Roswell, Georgia; son-in-law, Hearld Saathoff of Mason City; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Snyder of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; sister-in-law and long time companion Jean Hood; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marion; one daughter; three sisters and two brothers. Arrangements Major Erickson Funeral Home and Crematory. 641-423-0924.
