Fannie M. Zeigler

Fannie M. Zeigler, 90, of Mason City, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday (June 8, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Fannie Zeigler memorial fund in care of the family. Fannie was born June 23, 1921, in rural Kanawha, IA, the daughter of Erick and Anna (Eenhuis) Olthoff. She attended country school in rural Kanawha. Fannie married Elery F. Zeigler on May 6, 1943, at Wesley United Methodist Church – where she was a longtime member. Fannie enjoyed the outdoors and tending to her flower & vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed volunteer work for Congregate Meals. Family was very important to her – especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fannie is survived by two daughters: Wanda Fistler and husband Steve of Mason City, and Judy Marquardt and husband Chuck of Mason City; six grandchildren: Angela Walker and husband Tony of Mason City, Julie Fistler of Mason City, and Ben Fistler and wife Katie of Mason City, Fred Marquardt of Des Moines, IA, Corey Marquardt and Fiancée Rebecca Hass of Des Moines, and Drew Marquardt of West Des Moines; seven great grandchildren: Brennan and Parker Dondlinger, Alissa, Zachary, and Kayden Walker, Grace Marquardt, and Henry Fistler. She is also survived by three special nieces: Bev Ames of Garner, IA, Chris Bruggeman of Garner, and Dorothy Dudgeon of Clear Lake, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1994; four sisters: Grace, Henrietta, Annie, and Elsie; and five brothers: John, Eric, Raymond, Fred, and Erick (in infancy).

Cemetery:
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery

Memorials may be directed to the Fannie Zeigler memorial fund in care of the family

Visitation:
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday (June 8, 2012) at Major Erickson Funeral Home
