Evelyn V. Probasco, 74 , of Mason City, died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Good Shepherd Health Center. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday (January 2, 2007) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Rev. Steve Hansen of Wesley United Methodist Church will be officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Rudd, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4PM to 8PM on Saturday (December 30, 2006) and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Evelyn Probasco Memorial Fund. Evelyn was born December 11, 1932, in Floyd Crossing, Iowa, the daughter of Herman Field and Inez (Rolfes) Field. She attended Rudd High School in Rudd, Iowa, and later attended NIACC in Mason City. Evelyn worked for House of Lloyds in Grandview, MO and Spurgin?s Department Store in Mason City. In 1994 she retired. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a past member of the Optimist Club. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling and spending time with her dog, Sadie. Survivors include one daughter: Christine Doege and husband James of Burt, IA; three sons: Dale Rogers and wife Cathy of Mason City, William Rogers and wife Kathy of Mason City, and Glenn Rogers and special friend Keeme Robinson of Brandon, IA; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; two brothers: Herman Field and wife Patti of Pequot Lakes, MN and Robert Field and wife Candy of Cross Lake, MN; one sister: Betty Wetter of Backus, MN. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister: June Evenson.
