Eugene K. Belseth, 65, of 728 S. VanBuren Avenue, died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit following a lengthy battle of cancer. Memorial Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with the Harding Masonic Lodge holding a 6:00 PM Masonic Service. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Eugene K. Belseth Memorial Fund. Eugene Belseth was born March 13, 1941 to Kenneth and Suzie (Biesel) Belseth of Mason City. Eugene married Sharon Braun on August 21, 1960. Eugene graduated from Mason City High School in 1959. Eugene worked for Deckers as a mail clerk before going to work for Mason City Glass. After leaving these jobs, he opened Monroe Glass and had been in the business for 34 years. He also worked several years for Per-Mar Security and for Principal in Mason City. He was a member of Harding Lodge where he was treasure, and was a member of the Shriners. He loved people, feeding all the birds and whatever came into the yard to eat. He was also a great gardener. Eugene was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Mason City. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Belseth of Mason City; one son, Tim Belseth and his wife Karah; six grandchildren, Devyn, Jorden, Aidan, Kayleigh and Tymothy Belseth of Kingville, Texas and Cade Belseth of Plymoth, Utah; two nieces, Lynn Powers of Nevada, Iowa and Lorie Belseth of Punta Garda, Florida; one brother, Duane Belseth and wife Marilyn of Fairmont, Minnesota; special friends Mary Ann and Larry Lahse of Belmond, Iowa, Diane Marshall of Mason City, and Bonnie Kern of Mason City.
