Elinor T. Kornhauser, 77, of 1453 Birch Drive, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at St. John?s Episcopal Church, 120 1st Street N.E. with Rev. Wendy Abrahamson officiating. The family will greet friends in the chapel from 10:00 to 10:45 AM. Inurnment will take place in the columbarium at St. John?s Episcopal Church. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the Kornhauser home, 1453 Birch Drive. Eastern Star services will take place at 7:00 PM at the Kornhauser home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa, St. John?s Episcopal Church Alter Guild or Eastern Star Chapter #58. Elinor was born December 20, 1929 in Princeton, Missouri the daughter of Orin and Beulah (Bruner) Tucker. She graduated from Allerton High School Allerton, Iowa as class valedictorian then attended Christian College in Columbia, Missouri for 2 years. Elinor married Robert J. Kornhauser November 4, 1950 in Des Moines. While living in Des Moines, Elinor worked for Younkers Department Store. The Kornhauser?s moved to Mason City in 1957. In 1957, Elinor went to work for Frank J. Enbusk & Company, Certified Public Accountants. She then went on to work for United Home Bank & Trust where she worked 30 years, retiring in 1994. Elinor was an active member of St. John?s Episcopal Church where she served as directress of St. John?s Alter Guild. She also served as Diocesan Altar Guild Directress on the state level. Elinor was Past Worthy High Priestess White Shrine, Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Mother Advisor Rainbow Girls and served as Grand Deputy of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Iowa and Minnesota. Elinor was also a member of Pilot Club and Professional Secretaries. Elinor is survived by her husband, Robert J. Kornhauser of Mason City; daughter, Elizabeth I. ?Lisa? Kornhauser of Des Moines; sister, Carolyn T. Reighley and husband Fenton J. ?Jim? of BoonesMill, Virginia; 2 nephews, Kurt B. Reighley of Seattle, Washington and Todd A. Reighley currently serving in Baghdad, Iraq. Elinor is preceded in death by her parents and beloved aunt, Frata T. Sarig
