Edward Dale Sutton, 81, of 822 S. Rhode Island, Mason City died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 329 East State Street, with the Rev. Paul Finger officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 ? 7:00 PM at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue, and one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be given to the Edward Dale Sutton memorial fund. Edward Dale Sutton was born on August 18, 1922, to Earl A. and Minnie C. (Lau) Sutton in Nora Springs, Iowa. Edward served in the Army during WWII, where he served in the Marshall Islands Campaigns, running anti-aircraft guns on ships. Edward worked with Lampert Lumber for many years and retired from North Iowa Community Action. Edward was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Edward is survived by his wife, Eva, of Mason City; daughter, Cheryl Cline, of West Union, IA; son, Steve Sutton and wife Kristy of Plymouth; brother, Robert B. Sutton and wife Aline, of Medford, Oregon; and sister, Joyce Hartwell, of Mason City; and sister, Shirley Madsen of Charles City; daughter-in-law, Kathy Seiple, of Savannah, Illinois. Grandchildren; Michael Cline, Saron Sutton, Aimee Cline, Mara Sutton, and Shawn Sutton, and great-grandchild, Mitchell Cline. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Minnie; infant son, Edward JR; infant daughter, Peggy Ann and brother, Raymond Sutton.
