MASON CITY: Edna Mae Mills, 88 of Mason City, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday (October 24, 2008) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with the Pastor Kent Mechler, Good Shepherd Health Center Chaplain officiating. Upon Ednas wishes she will be cremated and a memorial service followed by inurnment of her cremains will be held in Millington, MI. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2nd St. S.E. Mason City, Iowa 50401.

Edna Mae Mills was born March 21, 1920 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Ora and Minne Pearl (Black) Cloninger. She was married to Clayton H. Mills on October 29, 1938 in Angola, IN. She lived in Millington, Michigan until moving to Mason City where she resided until her death.

She was survived by her children, Dr. Robert C. Mills and wife Marjorie of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Mary Esther Shurtz and husband Dr. Carl A. of Mason City; seven grandchildren, Michael (Kelley) Mills of Anchorage, AK, David (Deede) Mills of Kentwood, MI, Jeffrey (Amy) Mills of Allegan, MI, Patrick Mills of Anchorage, AK, Eric (Karen) Shurtz of Mason City, John (Ann) Shurtz of Mason City and Carla Shurtz of Mason City; sixteen great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Matthew Mills of Kentwood, MI, Maxwell, Olivia, Josephine, and Charlotte Mills of Anchorage, AK, Sabrina, Sasha Mills of Allegan, MI, Brent and Megan Bagley of Ames, Iowa, Logan Shurtz of Mason City, Clayton, Gregory, Ana Marie and Jeffrey Shurtz of Mason City; brother, Roy (Frances) Cloninger of Royal Oak, MI; sisters, Benaldine Moesta of Valapariso, IN and Frances Rock of Greenwood, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Minnie Cloninger; husband, Clayton H. Mills; twin sister, Edith Walters; and several brothers and sisters in-laws.
