Edith F. Reeder, 85, of Mason City, IA, died Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Homestead Assisted Living. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday October 28, 2014, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Dr. Bobby Dickerson officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, KS at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Crisis Intervention Service, P.O. Box 656, Mason City, IA 50401. Edith Fern Tinkum was born May 6, 1929, in Ingalls, KS, the daughter of Frank and Florence (Kern) Tinkum. She attended school in Dodge City, KS. On October 11, 1946, Edith married James T. Reeder, Sr. in Goodland, KS. She worked for Wescon Controls as a Line Worker for 20 years before her retirement in 1997. Edith lived in Wichita, KS until moving to Mason City in 2004. She enjoyed living a simple life, family camping trips, reading and watching sports – especially KC Chiefs football. She was proud to be a recent winner in her family’s fantasy football league. Edith attended the First United Methodist Church. Edith is survived by her son: James T. Reeder, Jr. and his wife K of Mason City; 3 grandchildren: Nathan Reeder and wife Christina of Johnston, IA, Karen Pottratz and husband Scott of Gypsum, CO, and James T. Reeder, III of Tamuning, Guam; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Opal Smith of Emporia, KS and Geneva McLeod of Wichita; and a sister-in-law: Esther Koehn of Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 3 brothers: Mac Tinkum, Roy Tinkum and Ralph Tinkum; and 1 sister: Enid Sawyer.

Cemetery:
Inurnment will take place in the Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, KS at a later date.
