Douglass L. Clark

MASON CITY: Douglass L. Clark, age 82, of Mason City, died of cancer on Thursday, November 26, 2009, at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Ginny Padzieski officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.



Doug was born on December 6, 1926, in Arkansas City, KS, the son of Clifford and Hattie Belle Clark. He graduated from High School in Independence, KS. He worked for Northwestern States Portland Cement Company for 34 years. Doug enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Mason City Mens Garden Club. Doug was a caregiver who loved helping others. In his younger years, Doug enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader.



He is survived by his wife Helen Clark of Mason City; his children: Bonnie Schriber and husband Jim of Chatham, IL, Rev. Ginny Padzieski and husband Bob of Rochester, MN, Jim Brown and wife Cookie of Florence, KY; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother: Kenneth Clark of Dallas, TX.



He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Jana Clark; two brothers: Royal and Bob Clark.
