Dorothy M. Fagerle

MASON CITY: Dorothy M. Fagerle, 90, of Mason City, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 25, 2016 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Ed Bard, Chaplain, Hospice of North Iowa officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.

Dorothy was born June 20, 1925 in Mason City the daughter of Lloyd R. and Alta L. (Zink) Watts. She graduated from Mason City High School and went on to attend Mason City Junior College where she received her RN degree. Dorothy married Leonel H. Fagerle February 13, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Later in life, she worked as an RN at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Dorothy was an avid quilter and traveled extensively, including trips overseas.

Dorothy is survived by 1 son, Richard “Rich” Fagerle of St. Paul, Minnesota; siblings, Barb (Brett) Troyer of St. Paul, Minnesota and Tom (Debbie) Watts of St. Paul, Minnesota; cousin, Arlene VanHorn of Mason City; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonel in 1972; 1 son, James and 1 sister, Marian.
