MASON CITY Dorothy J. Bohl, 75, of Mason City, died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Pastor Ed Bard, Hospice of North Iowa Chaplain, officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Major Erickson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dorothy J. Bohl memorial fund in care of the family.
Dorothy was born on June 1, 1935, in Mason City, the daughter of Carl F. and Eva (Dennis) Wolff. She attended Mason City Schools. She married Bill Russeff and later married LeRoy Bohl. Dorothy worked as an Assistant Activities Director at Good Shepherd Health Center. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Dorothy enjoyed music, spending time at Pros Sandwich Shop, organizing and recording Wolff family reunions, solving Cryptograms in the Globe Gazette and The Daily Jumble in the Des Moines Register and most of all, her family and friends. She was always positive and kind to everyone, she stood up for those who couldnt for themselves, and put everyone first before herself. She will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Warren Russeff of Mason City, Wendy (Randy) Barz of Clear Lake, IA, Bill (Roxane) Russeff of Mason City, Wes Russeff of Mason City; 8 grandchildren: Alyssa (Jarrod) Benson, Stacy Russeff, Holly (Jake) Rinnels, Sarah (Skip) Dearman, Ashley Kinnan, Mariah, Kayden, and Billy Knutson; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Lila Paulson of Mason City and Margie Swann of Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband: Bill Russeff; second husband: LeRoy Bohl; 4 sisters: Gertrude Sandahl, Ilene Wold, LaVonne Lemoine and Esther Edgington; two brothers: Warren and Robert Wolff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dorothy J. Bohl memorial fund in care of the family.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Major Erickson Funeral Home.
