Doris D. Kennedy

Doris D. Kennedy, 83, of 507 S. Tennessee Place, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. James Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church. Doris was born July 17, 1922 near Kensett, Iowa the daughter of Theodore and Elnora (Mellem) Jensen. She graduated from Kensett, High School in 1940. Doris then attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated with her RN in 1943. Doris worked a number of years as the office nurse for Dr?s. Swanson and Marinos. She married Herbert L. Kennedy July 19, 1945 in Mason City. Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City Women?s Club and a board member of the Mason City Foundation. Doris is survived by her husband, Herbert L. of Mason City; children, Victoria Rae TeKippe and husband Michael of Portland, Kathleen Ann Klink and husband Bruce of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Scott H. Kennedy and wife Rebecca of Safety Harbor, Florida, Lori Jean Roberts and husband Steven of Boone; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Maxine Dodge, Ilah Groh, Yvonne Perkins and Sonia Ugland; brother, Newlin Jensen; many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents.
